"Sacked From The Bank, But Now An Investor With Banks" Mrs Oluchi Abraham
"After all, all the world cares about is you make of the challenges in which you find yourself". These were my exact thoughts when I first learnt of the ordinary woman who climbed the corporate ladder in the banking sector, got her dream dashed. And went a heard to create a better dream, which she is now living in, with her family.
And she says, "You too can live your dreams".
This is a story of a woman was transfigured from an employee sacked from a bank, to the investor banks are low lobbying to have her patronise them.
Mrs Oluchi Abraham had graduated from a university and landed a choice job, as a banker. A job she loved and had worked passionately at for over 15yrs.
Through the years, working in one of the most famous banks in Nigeria, United Bank for Africa (UBA), she rose to become a branch manager at one of the branches in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state.
Then, one day, tragedy struck. In the most shocking and heartbreaking fashion.
Walking up to her desk on a bright and hopeful day, she discovered that she could not log into her portal. Her password had been retrieved. Upon inquiring, she had lost her job with the bank.
Devastated and clueless; where does she go from here? That was her only source of income. As a manager, who would've thought that her job was not secured?
She had tried to redeem herself financially by taking up small businesses, until she came across the business called Network Marketing.
Exploring the world of Network Marketing with the popular Forever Living products for a few years and giving too little to show for it, she was invited over by a friend to look at a new company; a Chinese company that was seeking to plant its roots in Africa, LONGRICH BIOSCIENCE INTERNATIONAL.
Judging by her experience with Forever Living Products, she was understandably sceptical about continuing with another company, a new company.
She had requested more time to consider the offer from this her good friend, who was a former colleague. While she thought through the offer, she had directed her friend to meet her younger brother, Obinna, in hopes that he will critically analyse the business offer and, if convinced about it, he would be her first team member (downline).
However, there was a little twist of fate as Obinna was more impressed than his elder sister, Oluchi imagined as he instantly signed up into the business the moment he was told about it. Leaving Oluchi, who was the first to be told of the business, coming under Obinna later, against Oluchi's original plan.
That not discouraging her, she took over her business with great belief and passion, building and impacting.
Although she had started slowly in a bid to thread with caution, but everything changed when on one fateful Thursday, she earned a commission is over a hundred and eight thousand naira.
That did it for her, and she went all out.
8yrs down the line, she became the second black person to reach the topmost rank in Longrich, together with her compatriot, Dr (Mrs) Ejimagwa.
By her account, she now has accumulated so much wealth that she does not need to go to the bank anymore
"I don't go to the bank. The banks come to me", as she had popularly put it.
Today, she is not just celebrated globally, but notable banks with their branches in the city of Uyo make it a duty to send her gifts (like Christmas goats, cakes, cards, etc) and congratulatory messages, with top bank officials accompanying them to celebrate with her even without her inviting them. Most recent is on her celebration of attaining the topmost rank of Longrich, where Access Bank, Zenith Bank, GTbank, were amongst the well known financial establishment who sent delegates and congratulatory cars and cakes to her mansion.
This truly is a story of from Sack to Sought after.
