How to Prospect Like A Pro Online

In Sales and Marketing, prospecting is perhaps the most difficult part of your business.

Getting the leads and the audience is easy. We can get that through handbills, social media, personal contact, etc. But how do turn these leads into prospects and go ahead and recruit them into our network marketing business?

In the course of this post, I will be showing you some practical steps that will easily transmorph leads and audience into prospects and customers or partners.

Most of us have problems recruiting because we are overly focused on our hunger for money, that we don't take our time to be strategic.

To prospect and recruit people effectively, you must be very strategic and be very patient.

The first step in prospecting is that you must be mindful of your anxiety.
Don't be too anxious about getting somebody that you start pushing someone too hard.

One of the most effective ways of approaching people is to put yourself in their position.

Just the same way you can feel when someone is pressuring you to do what you're not convinced of, that's how you make others feel when you put too much pressure.

The first thing you must learn in your business is to not pressure yourself.

Don't push yourself harder than you have to. Take your time to learn before you make a move.

And always focus on the three processes:

1. Planting

2. Watering

3. Harvesting

1. PLANTING

Like we all know, when you're going to grow a farm, you must plant a seed.

You don't just go ahead and throw the seed anyhow, or just dig any hole and put the seed, you must first prepare the soil to receive the seed.

Seeds grow even though you don't prepare the soil for planting, but it is not as effective as when you prepare the soil for planting.

When you prepare the soil for planting, it grows faster and better.

The same with people. You must prepare their minds for your business seed.
Create a relationship. Show honest interest in their lives. Interact with their photos and posts online. Make honest and sensible comments when they post. Commend and compliment them when you feel like. Make them realise that you have sincere interest and concern for them.
Then, introduce your opportunity to them.
That first time is the seed!

They may tell you they can't do it. Or that they don't have money. Or that they've done it before and it didn't work. Or any other excuse.
Accept their rejection and respect their choice. Don't try too hard to convince them. Change the topic and keep the relationship warm.

You have planted your seed already.

Don't ever feel discouraged and stop being friend with them.
They have started noticing your posts. So, now, you should continue trying post inspirational, motivational and informative posts on your wall.
If you know them in real life, try to encourage them in whatever they do and always wish them well. And, more importantly, continue to share your little achievements with them, and other people's achievements too.

You've now entered stage 2:

2. WATERING

You've planted the seed. Although the person didn't give you a good response, maybe he/she doesn't have the money then; maybe he/she have other things budgeted to do at that time; maybe he/she just doesn't like the idea; maybe he/she did not really understand what you're talking about; maybe...

This is similar to when you plant a seed, it is possible that it's a bad seed, or maybe the seed is infected, or maybe the seed is broken, or maybe...

What will determine the output is how you tend and water the seed

There might be weeds growing around it that needs to be plucked; there may be harsh weather conditions that you need to shield it from. You just have to tend and water it!

To water the seed you've planted in people is to consistently be lively in your posts and relationship with them. Keep interacting with them and sometimes share the successes and achievements in your company with them. Encourage them as much as you can. Celebrate with them when they celebrate. Treat their rejection as if they told you "remind me later".

Remind them that you still hope in them joining your team. Assure them of your support. Tell them how much you believe in them, and that that is why you would love them to be in your team.
Motivate them.
Never go cold on them. Always show that you're in high spirits and progressing.

Gradually, that seed you planted will be growing. Keep informing, motivating and educating them.
Don't ever let any of your post or message sound like you're laughing at them or mocking them for not joining you, no matter the amount of success you're having.

Their excuse may make no sense, but just assure them of better days and that you will always be there when they need your support.

Remove every pressure. Don't convince. Rather, advise .

You will see that most of the seeds you planted will start to grow and flourish.

And before you know it, it's harvest time !

None of these processes is instantaneous or automatic.

You must exercise utmost patience and consistency. If need be, put down their names on paper so that you won't forget.

The sweet thing about this is that it opens your door for many other new people, especially people you might get to meet through them.

So, if you target about 10 people and follow up with this strategy for like 4 months, you might end up gaining more than 20 new members.

Thank you very much. I hope you got something?
