"His lowest score was 91%" - DODTheory

Success is hard work. Don't let anyone lie to you that there is another way to succeed in life.

The percentage of accidental success is so minimal that it will be foolish of anyone to rely on it. In fact, accidental success happens to those who have prepared for it. That is hard work too.

The reason most people fail at what they do is because their target was not placed high enough.

There was classmate of mine, who was the best in my class, that made me discover this truth.

This friend of mine, in one of our toughest semesters in school scored 91% as his lowest exam score.

In that semester, a few people had a perfect grade; all A's. But this communicated something deep to me: this my smart friend, even though he had as many A's as the other people in the class that did, obviously had higher target than an average student. I am suspecting that he targeted 100%. He didn't target an A (70% and above). He targeted 100%.

So, when most students targeted and calculated how they can snatch as many marks to enable them reach at least 70%, he kept his focus on 100%.

And the results were daunting. When he failed at his 100% target, he landed at 91%. Guess where those who had their targets at 70% would land if they fail?

Most of the time, we fall guilty of setting our targets too low. If you set them high enough, your failure will be a success. The only options that will be available will be excellent success or just success. Both bring successes.

Are you setting your targets high enough?
