"Sacked From The Bank, But Now An Investor With Banks" Mrs Oluchi Abraham

Image
"After all, all the world cares about is you make of the challenges in which you find yourself". These were my exact thoughts when I first learnt of the ordinary woman who climbed the corporate ladder in the banking sector, got her dream dashed. And went a heard to create a better dream, which she is now living in, with her family. And she says, "You too can live your dreams". This is a story of a woman was transfigured from an employee sacked from a bank, to the investor banks are low lobbying to have her patronise them. Mrs Oluchi Abraham had graduated from a university and landed a choice job, as a banker. A job she loved and had worked passionately at for over 15yrs. Through the years, working in one of the most famous banks in Nigeria, United Bank for Africa (UBA), she rose to become a branch manager at one of the branches in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state. Then, one day, tragedy struck. In the most shocking and heartbreaking fashion. Walking up to her de...

"I will rather borrow than save up to start a business" -DODTheory

Image
"Save up or borrow to start a business?" You'll see my personal take... Let's assume there are two young friends who want to do business. Amara and Chioma. Maybe they both wish to start retailing beauty soap. They both go to the wholesaler to get 100pcs of the product to start, each costing ₦50. Totalling ₦5,000. Amara calculated the cost of transportation and other expenses incurred and arrives at a retail price of ₦80 per piece. Targeting a gain of ₦3,000 to cover transportation, and other things including take home. This may take Amara a month to achieve before she would have to restock. Chioma, on the other hand, sells her at ₦52 per piece. In that case, reaching more people because they know it's one of the cheapest rates they can get. In a week, she has effectively sold everything and made a gain of only ₦200. She goes back for restocking and gets more, maybe about 120pcs this time. She sells to maybe 90 of her old customers of last week and 30 new c...

The Difference between Direct Selling and Network Marketing

Image
Network Marketing and Direct Sales have frequently been mistaken to mean the same thing. In fact, they have more similarities than differences. But it is worthy of note that there is a very vital difference between the two systems of products movement. Most people have erroneously believed that it's just a matter of point of views; if you're looking at the mode of sales of produces, it is called 'direct sales', where as if you're looking at the structure of the business model, you call it network marketing because it is a network. This is not true, as investigation has shown that the difference between both business schemes is more than just point of views. Let's go straight up to the differences, since we probably know the similarities. In this post, I will be talking about the three most obvious differences: 1. PRODUCTS . The products give a very strong clue in differentiating between Direct Sales and Network Marketing, generally. Direct Selling companies...
